About Septic Contractor Insurance

We are an independent insurance agency writing septic contractors — the crews who install systems, pump and clean them, and go back out when something fails.

Septic work sits on a seam most commercial policies were not drafted with in mind. A general liability form generally excludes damage arising from the discharge or escape of pollutants, and for this trade the pollutant is the work: a drainfield that surfaces, a backup that reaches the inside of a home, effluent released while a tank is being pumped. Contractor’s pollution liability exists to sit in that gap. Which side a particular loss lands on depends on the exact wording and the exact facts, and we do not resolve that on a web page. What we do is show you where the seam runs, so the question gets asked at quoting time rather than at claim time.
